A multidisciplinary artist born and raised in Harlesden, North-West London, Demae’s music draws from a wide palette of influences including golden-era hip-hop, soul, jazz and ambient R&B. Her creative journey began with home recordings and genre-fusing experiments, leading to the release of her breakout debut “Life Works Out…Usually” and the Maelibmixtape, which earned praise from BBC Radio 1, 1Xtra and 6 Music tastemakers such as Benji B, Jamz Supernova and CassKidd.
